The 2004 Makeover With A Mission
Before and Afters
These three women didn’t know what to expect when they initially sent in their letters of application, but knew they didn’t feel good about themselves and needed to make a change.
Susanne Morgan
“I have always been self conscious of my teeth and appearance," Susanne wrote in her application letter. Susanne was teased as a child about her teeth, holding her back from a lot of things she wanted to do and causing her to be very shy. But that wasn’t the only thing. After having two children of her own, in a remarkable act of kinship, Susanne gave birth to triplets in June of this year as a surrogate mother for a family member who was unable to have children. Since then, she had found it very difficult to regain her old body back. After seeing the surgeons from Artisan Plastic Surgery and having surgery Susanne is amazed by the results. “I still can’t believe it’s me in the mirror,” said Susanne. She then was able to have the gap in her teeth fixed with help from the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry. “They worked wonders and gave me the smile I always wanted. It was more pleasant than I ever imagined,” she explained.

Martha English
Like many of us, the years had taken their toll on Martha’s appearance and also the way she viewed herself. In addition due to caring for others in her family, Martha explained, “I just let myself go over the last few years and just feel a need to be renewed and feel young again.” The doctors were able to make Martha look fifteen years younger, give her back that slim shapely body she once had, and no longer is she dependent on glasses. Martha wore glasses for years and after only a short time at The Atlanta Vision Institute she now can see perfectly without them. “Most women are in search of the Fountain of Youth,” enthused Martha, “and with these doctors, I’ve truly found about the closest thing there is to it.”

Carol Girardey
Between being a single mother, raising two sons, and working two jobs Carol never had time to do a lot of things for herself. She explains, “For the first time in my life, I want to do something for myself – not just superficially on the outside, but I knew it would help transform me on the inside as well. During the makeover process, the cosmetic surgeons focused on me one-on-one and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. They are truly visionaries and miracle workers. I feel like a new person – rejuvenated inside and out.”
