Ultimate Makeover
Amanda Lynn Ward, this self-proclaimed "country girl" from Canton, desperately needed a new lease on life. The bubbly 31-year-old was whisked away from her family farm in Alpharetta and catapulted onto the grand transformation stage she earned as Atlanta's Ultimate Makeover recipient.
"I cannot stress how blessed I am to have been chosen as the recipient, and I have never felt so naturally giddy in all my life!" beams Amanda, hours after enduring fitness training and complete cosmetic dental treatment.
Having grown up training horses her entire life, Amanda's hasn't purchased trendy outfits, hair products and makeup to enhance her appearance - "or self-esteem". Amanda jokes affectionately, "Horses really don't care what you look like, but prestigious show competitors do!" She is slotted to represent the family business at the Pro-Am Benefit Classic Horse Show, and being on the Board of Directors of such classy, sophisticated functions in 2004 will not allow her to wear Wrangler jeans and tennis shoes.
Atlanta's Ultimate Makeover has Amanda's entire appearance covered, she certainly won't be dawned in dirty clothes or outdated eye-wear. She will no longer need glasses as she will receive Lasik surgery thanks to Dr. Keith Thompson of InView.
Additionally, Amanda will be uncompromisingly fit with the help of Super Trainer Carlos Jordan and flash a spectacular smile designed by famed cosmetic dentist, Dr. Debra Gray King of Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry.
Skin and hair are equally important in this complete transformation. That's where Atlanta's top stylist team of Van Michael, and wellness spa attendants of Natural Body Spa and Shoppe will offer their expertise. As for the intensive treatments that shall fulfill Amanda's wish to be tucked, toned and lifted, one of the country's most renowned plastic surgeons, Dr. James Davis, will perform a full body and skin alteration.
When asked if she is intimidated by the realization that thousands of viewers will watch her makeover on WSB-TV, Amanda is undaunted. She is on top of the world whether in front of the camera, in the operating room or in the spa having her shoulders kneaded. The show's producer, mary Fiorella can attest to Amanda's genuine enthusiasm since she has spent a great deal of time with her in multiple environments of her makeover at all hours of the day. "The great team of experts we have assembled combined with Amanda's positive outlook and supportive family have made my job easy!" says Fiorella.
