Instead of gooey impression material and bulky trays that cause many people to gag, the process uses digital impressions that are taken with a handheld digital camera.

2) Custom Fit

The computer software captures the most intricate details of your tooth, and the image is transferred to a milling machine which carves a custom same-day crown. Although minor adjustments may be necessary, CAD/CAM technology is more accurate than manual production.

3) Natural-Looking Restorations

Usually, a full-coverage restoration made has a metal base. Layers of porcelain are added and baked on. It produces results similar to a natural tooth, which is made of layers that give your tooth color and depth. Of course, your natural tooth doesn’t have a metal foundation, which can be difficult to conceal in a dental crown. CAD/CAM restorations are milled in the office. A block of ceramic material is selected and sculpted to match the tooth. There are many varieties of ceramics, as well as different colors and levels of translucency. It makes it easy to select a shade that matches your natural teeth.
