At times, taking control of your oral health can be challenging. If you want Invisalign but you also have missing teeth that you want to be replaced, how can you plan—and budget for both? At the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, our highly skilled cosmetic dentists can provide a treatment plan that will provide the best results for your oral health and your budget.

Invisalign or Tooth Replacement First?

Although Invisalign can be used to align your natural teeth after you receive dental implants, in most cases, it is best to receive orthodontic treatment before receiving dental implants.

  • Dental implants won’t budge – Unlike teeth and their roots that move and respond to Invisalign treatment, after dental implants fuse to your jawbone, they won’t move at all.
  • Your natural teeth can be damaged – If the teeth near the dental implants don’t move correctly, they can shift toward the implants and be damaged.
  • Careful planning is required – Straightening your teeth with Invisalign after you receive implants is treatment that should only be provided by an orthodontist or a dentist with advanced training in occlusion and bite. The movement of your teeth must be carefully planned to ensure their new position isn’t disrupted by the implants.

What About Your Budget?

Your treatment plan can be completed in phases. At the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer payment plans and financing to help you complete Invisalign treatment, replace missing teeth, and manage your budget.

Request an Invisalign Consultation

At the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry (ACCD), our dentists will examine your teeth and take x-rays to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign. We will also explain the results you can expect if you complete treatment before or after dental implants.

If you are experiencing jawbone shrinkage from teeth that have been missing for an extended period, our dentists work closely with oral surgeons who will place your dental implants. The oral surgeon you are referred to will determine the extent of the bone loss and whether or not grafting is needed before implant surgery.

Let your ACCD cosmetic dentist and the implant surgeon know your goals for your smile. They will work together to help you achieve those goals and plan your Invisalign treatment at the optimal time for your oral health.
